South Africa’s recently crowned Blancpain Sprint Champion David Perel heads to the Nurburgring this weekend with one eye on the Overall Blancpain GT AM Championship and another on putting in a strong performance for his team.
“I can’t think of a single driver who doesn’t want to race at the famous Nurburgring track,” David explained. “This will be my first time there but I’ve been doing many virtual laps since I was a teenager. “
With the Sprint Cup Championship in his pocket, David does not need to be conservative in the two races taking part on Saturday and Sunday alongside US co-driver Stephen Earle. “I’ll be pushing to the maximum at this event, our Kessel Ferrari 458 GT3 may be one generation behind the modern machines but it can still hold its own.”
Racing gets underway on Saturday with a one hour Qualifying Race followed by the Main Race on Sunday. Follow the action live onYouTube.com/GTworld
