Sun International is the official hotel partner for Gumtree World RX of South Africa, the final round of The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, which takes place in Cape Town from 10-12 November and will see the 2017 World RX Champion crowned. Sun International is Africa’s largest tourism, leisure and gaming group with a total of 27 resorts, luxury hotels and casinos in eight countries.
The new partnership with see Sun International official host of the “Official 2017 Season Closing Party” at the Grandwest Casino where all guests attending will be encouraged to use the hashtag #SunIntHospitality on their social media channels.
The Cape Town leg of World RX is the only new addition to the rallycross calendar in 2017 and marks the first time that the World Championship has visited the continent of Africa. Killarney International Raceway dates back to 1947 but the new rallycross circuit at Killarney is about a third of the size of the main circuit with a jump. Round nine of World RX took place at Loheac in France this weekend where PSRX Volkswagen Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson took the win in front of 75,000 passionate rallycross fans. With three rounds remaining including the season-closing Cape Town RX, Kristoffersson currently leads the standings by 46 points
