After claiming sixth place in Argentina, Al Qassimi heads to Iran to participate in Shiraz International Rally. Al Qassimi finished in 2nd place in the first two rounds of the MERC in Qatar and Kuwait.
After finishing in sixth place in Rally Argentina in the fourth round of World Rally Championship two weeks ago, UAE champion Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qassimi and his co-driver Chris Patterson are heading to Iran to participate in the first edition of Shiraz International Rally in their Citroën DS 3 RRC. The third round of the Middle East Rally Championship is this weekend.
Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi stressed that his goal in Shiraz International Rally is competing for first place, Al Qassimi said: “This is the first time we are competing in Shiraz Rally so we are not familiar with the terrain and conditions over there, however we will have a chance to get to grips with it during the testing sessions. Despite this being my first time in the Shiraz International Rally, team confidence is high and our goal is the same, to compete for first place.”
Shiraz International Rally is spread over two-days and consists of 14 special stages set over a total length of 248.4 km. The total distance is split equally between the two days and spread over 6 stages on day one and 8 stages on the second and final day.
