With just two days to the Pearl of Africa Rally, top contenders are speaking about their prospects in the weekend event.Kenya’s Jaspreet Chatthe says he not only hopes to maintain his African Championship lead but also register his maiden Pearl Rally finish.Chatthe leads the ARC with a difference of 21 points over Zambia’s Jassy Singh.

“Our anticipation is to be ahead of the ARC competitors and gain as much points as possible to maintain the lead. The rest we leave to the almighty to decide because every competitor wishes to win the race”
Chatthe has been unfortunate in all his attempts at the Pearl Rally.
Last year, he dropped out in stage five with engine failure.
He is however determined to put an end to the misfortunes this weekend.
“I have never finished Pearl Rally in the last three attempts, but hope to break the jinx this time.”
Chatthe could also claim the ARC title if his closest rival Jassy Singh fails to complete the event.
