No snow for Robert – Rallystar

Robert Kubica will not contest next week’s Rally Sweden.The former Formula 1 has confirmed he will miss the second round of the World Rally Championship, ending speculation that he could be about to make a second appearance with Italian squad BRC.

It had been hoped that Kubica’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC would be seen in Sweden, following his early bath on the season-opener in Monte Carlo earlier this month. Kubica crahed off the road on the first full day of competition in the French Alps. His Fiesta was then shipped back to M-Sport for a possible quick fix in time for Karlstad.

Kubica confirmed today, however, that he won’t start round two. The Pole has already made it clear he won’t be competing in Mexico or Argentina, so the earliest he could be back in the World Rally Championship is the middle of May for Rally of Portugal.

Kubica is known to be considering other options for this year and the long-term – and some of those options could take him away from the WRC and rallying.
