Competing crews will have the chance to claim a share of the €24,000 on offer, which is divided between the fastest drivers on the last two stages of the rally.
The prizes, offered by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, are up for grabs for all crews, regardless of whether they are taking part in the European Rally Championship, the Middle East Rally Championship or the local Cypriot championship.
The crew with the fastest total time on those two final stages will win €10,000. The fastest two-wheel drive crew and the fastest local crew will each receive €7,000.
Jean-Baptiste Ley, the Coordinator of the European Rally Championship, hailed this initiative and underlined the efforts of the Cyprus Automobile Association and the organisers in promoting the Cyprus Rally and the island itself. Ley also mentioned all the help that the Cypriot authorities are offering for the smooth running of the rally.
This year’s event is the fourth round of the FIA European Rally Championship, as well as the third round of the Middle East Rally Championship and the fourth round of the local championship.
