Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton doesn’t usually need any lessons in how to go quickly. But after swapping four wheels for two, the five-time world champion needed an instructor. Step forward, Lincoln-born World Superbike ace Alex Lowes.Hamilton joined Lowes and his Pata Yamaha teammate, Michael van der Mark, for the day at the Jerez circuit in Spain last weekend.

A keen biker already, Hamilton is no stranger two wheels and rode his own branded YZF-R1 labelled with the number 44, his F1 number.
Despite a minor tumble, Hamilton clocked some impressive times around the 4.4km circuit and richly enjoyed the experience.
Meanwhile, Lowes, writing on his official Facebook page, said: “I got to ride with the fastest man on 4 wheels and I can confirm he’s not too bad on 2 either! Great guy and lots of fun!”.
Hamilton and Lowes went into the winter having enjoyed successful seasons.
While the F1 great wrapped up his fifth title with two rounds to space, Lowes enjoyed his best season yet in World Superbikes, picking his first win in the series at Brno in the Czech Republic.
