Kubica has driven an M-Sport Ford this season after beginning his rally move with Citroen in 2013.
M-Sport chief Malcolm Wilson said: “We haven’t talked about next year. We need to know what Robert wants to do.
“Of course we would be interested in him staying with us next season, but we need to start talking about the possibilities.”
The ex-Formula 1 driver remained tight-lipped on his plans for next season.
“I will say I will be behind the wheel,” Kubica said. “But I don’t know where.”
Asked if next month’s Rally GB would be his last WRC event, he replied: “I don’t know. Maybe. I really don’t know what I will be doing next year.”
Sources close to the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix winner say he is not yet certain of the direction he wants to take.
He is understood to have offers to return to circuit racing in both America and Europe, but made clear at the end of last season that rallying needed to be a long-term commitment to be worthwhile, as he would only become competitive with experience.
Kubica has had a troubled 2014 featuring accidents of varying severity on every WRC event bar Rally Argentina, where he took a season-best sixth place.
