SEBASTIAN VETTEL says Formula 1 could be in for a wild ride this weekend in Canada due to the “high risk” nature of the circuit. The Montreal track is known for yielding action-packed grands prix with the Wall of Champions one its well-known obstacles. The Wall has caught out many drivers including Vettel, although he has only smacked it during practice sessions.
This season the German will be hoping to avoid doing even that as he looks to make inroads on the Mercedes drivers at a track where anything could happen. “Canada is a very demanding high-speed racing track, which is surrounded by rails and concrete walls,” he said.
“There is definitely a high risk potential, especially in Turn 15, where you will soon get to know the notorious ‘Wall of Fame’ should you be driving a few centimetres too far to the right.
“The first danger zone is already at the start. In the very narrow right-left passage, it’s all about avoiding contact with the other cars, otherwise there will be a crash.
“It is not uncommon for the Safety Car to make an appearance at the Canadian Grand Prix.”
