Can Am to create history at WRC Rally Australia

For the first time anywhere in the world a Can Am Maverick X-DS-Turbo side by side will compete in a round of the World Rally Championship – with Australia being the only nation where these all wheel drive exposed-to-the-elements vehicles race in a national rally championship.

The Anglomoil team unveiled its new-to-Australia turbo powered SXS at the start of the 2015 East Coast Bull Bars Australian Rally Championship and driver Nathan Chivers scored second outright at the International Rally of Queensland.

In preparation for the Coates Hire Rally Australia at Coffs Harbour the Anglomoil SXS has undergone a visual makeover and it now sports a colourful “wrap” promoting the livery of the Australian lubricant manufacturer’s high performance line of products: Anglomoil Racing. The engine, drivetrain, transmission and brakes in the SXS are all lubricated by products manufactured at their Sydney blending plant which is celebrating its 40th birthday.

Nathan admits he is still getting used to the extra torque of the turbo and the different ride height and suspension set-up which help to pull him out of corners and climb hills a lot faster than the normally aspirated model he campaigned for several years.

The Sydney SXS veteran is aiming for back to back podium finishes and possibly a hattrick…as he will be going to the next round, the Scouts Rally South Australia, which he won last year.
