DUCATI Corse MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso is no stranger to speed and excitement, but even he was blown away by a ride alongside World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier this week in the lead-up to Rally Italia Sardegna.“You have no idea of how extreme it is, how fast they go in the narrow roads and how powerful these cars are,” an excited Dovizioso exclaimed later.

“To be honest, it is the most charged-up and incredible thing I have ever done, by a long shot – MotoGP is nothing compared to this!”

Ogier had been on Sardinia testing with the Polo R WRC before the start of this weekend’s sixth round of the WRC. Dovizioso is currently third in the MotoGP driver standings for Ducati Corse.

Ducati is part of the Volkswagen Group, so in effect both he and Ogier have the same employer.

Replacing Julien Ingrassia in the co-driver seat, Dovizioso got his thrills as Ogier cranked the Polo up to race speed on the gravel roads around Olbia in the northeast of Sardinia.

Divizioso is not the first MotoGP star to experience WRC. World Champion Valentino Rossi is a renowned rally fan and since 1998 has competed in a string of Subaru, Ford and Toyota WRC cars.
