Ex-Peugeot Sport Boss Famin to Join FIA in Operations Role

Former Peugeot Sport boss Bruno Famin will join the FIA in a new operational position within its sporting division.Famin, who has served as the French manufacturer’s motorsports director, will take up the newly created Director of Operations role on July 1.

While leading Peugeot to three victories in the Dakar Rally, as well as masterminding Sebastien Loeb’s Pikes Peak record run, Famin also served as the technical director for Peugeot’s 908 LMP1 program, which was highlighted by victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2009.

 

“Bruno brings a wealth of experience across many facets of motor sport to this new position, which has been created to strengthen the development of FIA Sport,” said FIA President Jean Todt.

“His passion for competition and organizational strength will be a great asset in guiding and implementing our strategic vision.

“I would also like to thank PSA Motorsport for its cooperation during Bruno’s transition to the FIA.”

Francois Wales, meanwhile, has been named Famin’s successor at Peugeot.

Most recently, Peugeot announced its withdrawal from the FIA World Rallycross Championship, citing the lack of direction in the championship’s planned integration of EV technology.
