As most teams are already on their way to the middle east for participating in the Hankook 24H DUBAI 2019 options are still available to be part of the 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP and TCR Middle East. Shipping dates from all major ports are still available.
The first-ever season of the 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP and TCR Middle East is scheduled to get underway at the Dubai Autodrome on 25-26 January, just two weeks after the 14th annual Hankook 24H DUBAI on 10-11-12 January, and will incorporate three endurance-length races across three consecutive weekends in the United Arab Emirates. Following the first-ever Hankook 6H DUBAI, the series heads to the exalted Yas Marina Circuit for the Hankook 4H ABU DHABI one week later on 1-2 February, the three-round season wrapping up with the Hankook 10H DUBAI at the Dubai Autodrome on 7-8 February. TCR Middle East will also have 2x 30 minutes races each weekend.
The actual entry list consist of teams from Germany, England, The Netherlands and Hungary. To name a few; Zengo Motorsport with CUPRA TCR, All-INKL.com with a Honda’s TCR, J W Bird Motosport with a VW TCR, Team Work Motorsport with an Audi RS3 and Red Camel with CUPRA TCR. Race weekend format TCR Middle East January 2019 will mark another significant step for CREVENTIC, as the Dutch organizing body will oversee the third annual TCR Middle East Series after signing a deal with TCR International Series chief executive, Marcello Lotti.
The 2019 TCR Middle East Series will run in tandem with the 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP, and thus includes three consecutive race weekends in January and early February. The first, headlined by the Hankook 6H DUBAI on 25-26 January, will include a 30-minute qualifying session ahead of two 30-minute sprint races. Thereafter, the TCR field will qualify for, and race, as TCR-class in, the Hankook 6H DUBAI. This format will be replicated at the second race in Abu Dhabi on 1-2 February, as well as the third and final MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP outing at the Dubai Autodrome – the Hankook 10H DUBAI – on 7-8 February, after which a new TCR Middle East champion will be crowned. The 10-hour season closer in Dubai meanwhile will include a free practice session and 45 minutes of qualifying prior to the green flag. Each endurance race will begin with a single rolling start coordinated by race control. Category breakdowns and driver requirements 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP CREVENTIC is pleased to announce that, following strong feedback from both regional and European teams, touring cars will also be eligible to compete across all three race weekends in a designated category. The TC class will cater to touring cars whose engine displacements lie between 1.600cc and 3.500cc, with or without Turbo. The three-round 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP will also accept entrants for the new Cayman GT4 Trophy, a brand new category that will also make its 24H SERIES debut at the 2019 Hankook 24H DUBAI in January. A one-make class, similar to the all-Porsche ‘991’, the new Cayman GT4 Trophy welcomes competitors to compete for both championship and race honours in the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport (Type 981), a sports car that has garnered a formidable reputation since its first dalience with the 24H SERIES last year. Alongside the Touring Car runners, GT teams are welcome to enter vehicles that meet technical regulations for A6, SPX, SP2 and 991 classes, while PROTO outfits will be eligible to run P2, P3 and P4 prototypes, bespoke PX models beneath 2.000cc, and anything down to 1.650cc, turbocharged CN2 machines. All teams can run between two and five drivers per car, and all entrants are required to hold either a National UAE racing license, or an international license, Group D and above. Teams and drivers that enter all three rounds of both the new 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP and the TCR Middle East Series will score points towards Team and Driver titles. In the MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP, outright champions will be crowned for the GT, TCE and PROTO divisions. In-class honours will also be up for grabs, as will the vaunted Junior Cup, a staple of the 24H SERIES for many years and eligible for any drivers born after 1995. Podium celebrations will be conducted after each race to commemorate a job well done, with the teams and drivers that finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd, both overall and in-class, set to receive bespoke trophies from the 24H SERIES’ principal sponsors. Entries for both the 24H MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP and the TCR Middle East Series are still available, and will continue to be available throughout December.
