Formula Vee to roar at Zwartkops

The Hankook Formula Vee Championship will head to the Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria for the third round of the 2016 season on Saturday 21 May. If the first two races of the year are anything to go by one can expect yet another action packed event on the cards.

Once again this popular single seater category will join the Extreme Festival Series for a bumper day of motorsport.

Peter Hills (Rhema 2) currently leads the National Championship standings with Gert van den Berg (Rhema 2) a further ten points behind him. Jaco Schriks (Rhema 2) is not too far behind the leaders and will no doubt be looking to gain a few points on the opposition.

The battle behind the leading trio is just as close with Lushen Ramchander (Rhema 2) a single point ahead of series stalwart Symm Grobler (Rhema). Greg Wilson (Forza) finds himself in sixth position and will most certainly be looking to make up for lost ground.

Geoff Tugwell (VMax) will also be looking to try and get himself into the top six after this event as well. Series newcomer Lendle Jansen (Rhema 2) is a mere three points behind Tugwell with the experienced Ben Pienaar (Rhema 2) and Anthony Taylor (Rhema) rounding out the top ten after two events.

With at least another half a dozen drivers in the field the racing is expected to be fast and furious.
