The Heidelberg Rally that will be held this weekend has attracted fourteen national championship entries and eight regional entries. Altogether four S2000 cars have entered. The usual two Toyoita Gazoo Racing Yaris cars of Leeroy Poulter and Giniel de Villiers who will in all probability steal the show again as has been the case all year.
Missing from the entry list is the Ford Fiesta of Luke Botha, but Namibian Wilro Dippenaar, in his Ford Fiesta, will be back after missing the previous event. Ernie van der Walt in a Toyota Yaris rounds off the four S2000 entries.
In S1600 we have seven entries. As usual we can expect the S1600 fight to be fought between the current 2015 champion, Guy Botterill in a Toyota Etios R2, Paulus Franken in a Volkswagen Polo R2 and AC Potgieter, also in a Volkswagen Polo R2.
Theuns Joubert has entered NRC4 in a Toyota Auris.
The fourteen stage event will start on Friday afternoon and three night stages are on Friday’s action. The rally finishes on Saturday. The Clerk of the Course is Jackie Schreiber who is organising the event under supervision.
The Heidelberg Rally is round 5 of the seven round SA National Rally Championship.
