Lewis Hamilton insists he is ready to obey team orders from Mercedes next season after a couple of incidents in 2015. Formula 1: Hamilton ready to accept team orders Hamilton was involved in two incidents in 2015 when he challenged team orders but did eventually follow through with them in the end.
In Mexico, Hamilton believed he could make it to the end of the race on his tyres but the team forced him to pit for a change. The Brit again questioned the decision-making in Brazil two weeks later when he asked if he could be put on a different race-strategy to try and catch team mate Nico Rosberg. The former McLaren man has admitted that he was wrong to dispute the team’s decision and insists he will continue to obey their commands in 2016.
Hamilton said: “When you are in a car you don’t have the bigger picture, hence the reason why you do have to fall back and rely on those guys quite a lot. “The majority of the time the team is obviously in the best position, but every now and then the driver might be in a better position. “But you work as a team. It’s not about you on your own out there.”
