Higgins perfect in Pennsylvania

Higgins’ nearest challenger was fellow Subaru driver Adam Yeoman, but he couldn’t get close to the dominant Manxman. Higgins’ third STPR win maintains his 100 per cent Rally America record and means he’s won the last 11 Stateside events he’s started.

“This is always a tricky rally,” said Higgins, “and we had a lot of rain on Friday night, which could have made places really tricky and slippery on Saturday. In the end, it was all good.”

Higgins’ Subaru was flying down some of Rally America’s fastest roads, with the WRX regularly clocked north of 130mph.

Rally America moves north-east to Maine for the next round, the New England Forest Rally (July 17/18) and the good news for Higgins is that the competition will be back in the shape of Ken Block on the Sunday River-based event.
