In the drama of Rally Mexico’s Friday morning proceedings, it became clear that M-Sport Ford driver Ott Tanak and co-driver Raigo Molder were put out of the rally by an sizeable incident that saw them leave the road – however none of the following drivers saw where the car had gone, and it’s now clear why.
 The crew in fact crashed into a reservoir, after rolling off the road approximate two miles into the Los Mexicanos stage. Terrifyingly the car is said to have been submerged in less than thirty seconds – thankfully the crew were able to exit the car and swim to safety, and are now safely back in their hotel recovering; they’re said to be shaken, but ok. It’s a huge relief that the crew escaped unharmed, and we hope that they can make a speedy recovery and put the ordeal behind them. |
