Pepson team set to impress at Uzumbe
Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing is off to van Tichelin’s Farm in Umzumbe Kwa-Zulu Natal chasing nothing but the top of the podium at the fourth round of the 2018 MSA South African National Enduro Championships. The team’s E2 riders, William Oosthuizen leads the championship, while 16-year old SA Junior Enduro Champion Matthew Green sits fourth in class as Oosthuizen intends consolidating his lead and Green plans to move up the title table.
“The last race was super-tough but I brought my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna home second in class to move into the lead of both the overall and class championships,” Mossel Bay rider William confirmed. “Now it’s time to consolidate those championship leads and I am ready for a great weekend in Uzumbe — I know I have the best bike in the business so now it’s up to me to make it happen — bring it on!”
All eyes will be on Pepson Plastics Husqvarna youngster Matthew Green for a different reason at Uzumbe however — he returns from a brilliant debut sixth in the Silver class at the Red Bull Romaniacs ‘Mother of hard Enduros’ in Romania. “Romaniacs was an incredible experience — the toughest riding one can imagine and I learned so much over four days,” Nottingham Road lad Matthew explained. “Now its back to Uzumbe where I hope I can use some of that experience to surprise at home!”
“We will be looking for another positive weekend for Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing at Uzumbe,” Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “We head to KZN with William Oosthuizen leading the championship, while young Matthew Green delivered a stunning performance at the Romaniacs, so we look forward to seeing how he runs back on home soil — should be a great weekend of enduro racing for the Husqvarna team.”
