The INEX Legends Championship will head to the Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton on Saturday 25 June for the fifth round of the 2016 season. An added bonus to this event will be the fact that all races will be run in an anti-clockwise direction, adding a new challenge for all competitors.

The Overall and Individual class championships within the series continue to be a close run affair with the leading contenders in each category all in with a chance.
The Classes
Despite a DNF in one of the heats at the previous event Divan Myburgh continues to head up the points table in the Pro Category. Shaun Nel moves into second position and is well within striking distance of the current leader.
Seef Fourie has moved up to third after a brace of good results at the previous event. He has also regained some of the points that he lost in round three after the decision taken against him at that event was reversed. Morne Stoltz finds himself in fourth position with Keagan Wessels dropping back to fifth in the championship after missing the Dezzi Raceway event. Llewellyn Myburgh continues to look for a change of fortune and could well challenge for a podium position if lady luck decides to shine on him.
Things are closer than ever in the Semi-Pro category with Lonika Maartens holding a narrow lead over Shjaell Nel. Anro Stadler moves up to third position after some great results at the previous event. Dawie Fourie drops back to fourth after missing round four while newcomer Richard Upton continues to impress as he looks for more consistency to close the gap on Fourie. Jordan Larsson will certainly be aiming to build on his good performance at Dezzi with Janeske Botha expected to be back in action as well.
Justin Robertson has built up a slight cushion in the Masters class and will be looking to increase the slight advantage that he currently has. Anton Repsold holds on to second place in the standings but will have to worry about Steve Nel who has closed the gap between them after the last event. Fred Els holds onto fourth position with Johan van de Venter and Johan Jooste rounding out the top six. With a number of other competitive entries in the class the action should be closer than ever.
Clinton Bezuidenhout is expected to make a return to action in the Young Lions class and will no doubt be looking to pick up where he last left off. Schoolboy Altan Bouw is also expected to make a welcome return to the series and is sure to look at improving on the results he achieved at his debut event in round three.
The Overall title chase
Besides the individual class titles that are up for grabs, the coveted Overall INEX Legends Championship title is still very much on the minds of the leading drivers in the series.
Divan Myburgh (Pro) continues to increase his lead at the top of the points table. Justin Robertson (Master) moves up to second place with Shaun Nel (Pro) not too far behind him. Seef Fourie (Pro) jumps up four places to slot into the top four while Keagan Wessels (Pro) drops three places to fifth.
Team mates Anton Repsold (Master) and Lonika Maartens (Semi-Pro) hold onto sixth and seventh respectively. Anro Stadler (Semi-Pro) is hot on their heels and enters the top eight for the first time this season. With more than a dozen other drivers all looking to improve on their own positions in the championship the racing is expected to be fast and furious!
