The Overall and Individual class championships in the series are now closer than ever.

The Classes

Seef Fourie and Divan Myburgh are currently tied on points at the top of the points table in the Pro Category. Shaun Nel is not too far behind the pair and could well cause a few upsets as well. Keagan Wessels has had a string of podium results over the past two events and is certainly looking to make a late charge for a top three result in the class if he continues racking up the points like he has. Morne Stoltz drops back to fifth position while Llewellyn Myburgh continues to search for the reliability that has been preventing him from showing his true potential.

Justin Robertson has extended his lead in the Masters class and will be looking to increase the sizable advantage that he currently has over Anton Repsold. Steve Nel continues to hold on to third position with Johan van de Venter moving up to fourth. Johan Jooste continues to improve with each race and is slowly but surely accumulating enough points to hold onto fifth. Newcomer Richard van Heerde is hot on his heels however and will sure to be looking to gain more points on his closest rival. Kanaya Maharaj also continues to improve with each outing despite only having half a season of experience in the category.

Lonika Maartens has stamped her authority on the Semi-Pro category, opening up a decent lead between herself and second placed Anro Stadler who moves up from second place. Shjaell Nel is nipping at Stadler’s heels however and is still very much in with a chance. Newcomer Richard Upton continues to impress as he too climbs up the ranks. He cannot afford to rest on his laurels however as Jordan Larsson is only five points behind him and has finished ahead of Upton in a number of races already. Janeske Viljoen continues to improve with each event and will no doubt be looking to finish closer to the rest of the pack.

Clinton Bezuidenhout continues to dominate the Young Lions class and will be looking to rack up more points on the opposition. Schoolboy Altan Bouw is expected to make a welcome return to the series as well with Dylan Daly hoping to make his second appearance of the year at this event too.

The Overall Title Chase

Besides the individual class titles that are up for grabs, the coveted Overall INEX Legends Championship title is still very much on the minds of the leading drivers in the series. A number of dramatic changes have taken place over the past few events.

Seef Fourie (Pro) now heads up the Overall title chase ahead of Divan Myburgh (Pro). Justin Robertson (Master) has closed the gap on the leaders as he finds himself in third place as well. Young Clinton Bezuidenhout (Young Lion) moves up to fourth, but is only 5 points ahead of Shaun Nel (Pro). Lonika Maartens (Semi-Pro) has closed the gap to the rest of the leading pack and finds herself in a comfortable sixth place on the overall point’s log.

With everything and more to play for in the Championship, one can certainly expect the non-stop action that only the Inex Legends Series can produce at this event!
