INVITATION TO
RALLY / OFF-ROAD AND RACING DRIVERS
This is an invitation to talented, experienced and well-known drivers to contact us if you are interested in driving one of the intended seven Super 77 Class A cars during the seven events we plan to organise for the 2017 Super77 series.
We are currently busy negotiating with sponsors and have to indicate who the potential drivers of the seven cars they Sponsor will be.
Important Note: We will obviously cover reasonable expenses of the drivers we select to drive the cars, but it will support your application if you come to the party with a sponsor of your own as well.
We will negotiate space for you on the car and even run an advert or two during the event for your sponsor during the Streaming, on websites and the Electronic Score-Board.
If you have contacts you believe will sponsor you in any way, SPONSORSHIPSEEKERS will be willing to support you wherever we can.
Speak to us!
Now let’s get to the core of all this.
THIS IS HOW THE SUPER77 EVENTS WILL START.
We hope to get enough sponsors to build seven (7) cars – preferably “one-make” that will develop around 300 – 350bhp on the wheels.
Let’s call them “In-house” cars. (We are still open to suggestions and have not decided on a make or formula yet.)
The “In-house” cars will be set to make the same horsepower, be fitted with the same suspension and settings, equal brakes, power to weight ratio and so on. We will make it as fair as possible.
The most important thing is to offer sponsors the best possible deal and get drivers who will work with us to promote the sport, revive interest and create mega fun!
You have to add value to the Super77 series – we want sponsors to fight for your services.
It can happen!
We do not need “prima donnas” but personalities.
Drivers who can reach beyond the Pearly Gates now and then, but knows the Gatekeeper well enough to come back – with the car back in one piece.
We need people who can complain and still gain fans, a la Marcus Gronholm.
We need people who win even when they lose. Think Petter Solberg or Robby Gordon – the ultimate winner who seldom lands on the podium!
Drivers who say their say, but are willing to put their money where their mouths are.
YOU GET THE PICTURE?
Let’s fast forward a little…
How will this work on the day?
The selected drivers will all meet at 06h00 on the Saturday morning of the event all dressed up and ready to go.
[We need to mention that one of the seven lucky ones will be our own version of the Stig – a mysterious person, let’s call him “The Super7”.]
When we, the mere mortals meet, The Super7 will probably be sitting at a large table having his 06h00 coffee and cucumber sandwich.
Meanwhile…all the sponsors of the seven Super77 cars will be standing around eager for the draw to hear which car they will be driving.
Sponsors will then draw a number to determine the sequence in which they will draw the name of “their” driver for the day.
After the first driver has been drawn – that sponsor will, without looking at the name of his driver, sell “his” driver “voetstoots” – unseen!
That’s right – literally, sell him to any other sponsor who will know who the driver is.
If this driver on sale is not bought by any of the sponsors and he wins the event, every one of the declining sponsors will be “fined” One Thousand Rand which proceeds will also go to the charity of the organiser’s choice!
If the driver happens to be The Super7 the sponsor will not be allowed to sell him, but will have to contribute a minimum of R5000 to the charity of the events choice.
If the sponsor does not pay this, The Super7‘s envelope will go back into the hat, except if another sponsor wants to buy him. That money goes to charity and the initial sponsor will not be allowed to draw, but will receive the last name in the hat.
After the negotiations around the first draw are completed – the remaining sponsors will draw their drivers.
Cars will then be allocated, the seats adjusted to suit the drivers and there we go!
The Super77 Class A drivers will then line up with all the other classes and drive through the stage to the start of the Spectator Section. This will be the start of the qualifier, that will run over the “Spectator Section” of five kms.
Note:
A maximum of 40 cars or 90% of the entry will qualify to participate.
After the qualifier – only one chance – drivers will cruise through the rest of the stage to check their notes.
Excitement from 6 o’clock…….until around 16h30
OK now let’s rewind a bit….
Before I say – “Help us to make up our minds!” let me mention that if you do not qualify for selection to the SUPER77 Class A Seven do not fret.
It does not mean, you haven’t a chance to get into the top class or for that matter into the series.
So, read the next part that is applicable to all.
YOU CAN HELP US TO MAKE UP OUR MINDS.
We will endeavour to find sponsors for all seven (7) cars to compete against the other Super77 Class A cars in this group. Although the cars are not all that expensive – combined it makes a handsome some.
This where you may be able to help without even realising it yet.
What can you do to help your cause?
You can canvas as many as possible of your family and friends to register as “Supporters” on the www.Sponsorshipseekers.com website.
Tell us about any possible contact you have in companies who will listen to our proposal.
Come up with ideas – do not think anything is silly or will not work, before we have tried it or discussed it.
Come up with promotional ideas.
Add anything of value to the concept.
Share articles, send Tweets, support us and ask your friends to support us on Facebook and also to register on Rallystar and the Super77 website once it becomes operational.
WE NEED YOU – YOU NEED US AND FOR ONCE WE ALL NEED THE SUPPORT OF THE PETROLHEADS OUT THERE!
The more popular we can make the SUPER77 SERIES the better it will be for all.
Please introduce us to a Sponsor or a contact that we can negotiate successfully with – or bring your own sponsor to the party.
YOU HAVE A CAR ALREADY OR WILL BUILD YOUR OWN
If you already have a car that will fall into the top class (so far 300bhp restricted) no matter what it is – then talk to us, we will obviously try to assist you, to get going.
Just to repeat, the most important aspect is that you start motivating as many “supporters” (fans – people who are serious to support your cause.) l as you can.
It is so important to note that it will not cost them anything, they are the people who will gain from supporting YOU – they are the people who will help you – without it costing them any money!
Yes! That is a fact – come find out how!
Q and A
Yes we do have a list of preferred drivers but their success to being selected will depend on what they can bring to the party!
Apart for contacts, supporters and a bit of money where possible, we are looking for talent, personality and goodness knows marketability!
Pure Rally Characters! People who will enjoy the fun and drive their hearts out! [WITHOUT BREAKING THE CARS!]
We have to mention that if the gods of rallying bring us someone with a Quattro or Lancia from the Group B days or a real WRC spec car – no matter the model, or if you and your dad want to test a 1000bhp car on gravel – and we are blessed with five or more such cars – we will introduce a special class for them.
It will probably be called SUPER Morte!!
In the lower classes – it is possible to run a car and have great fun for less than what you will believe possible. That is of course if you behave – and keep the car intact without going slow. If you think this will be a church picnic – think again – you need to qualify to participate!
If more that two spectators “BOO” you when you pass – you will be disqualified! (Toemaar that’s only a joke!)
OUT OF THERE…..
What is true is that if you post the slowest time through a stage twice in succession – you will be replaced by the quickest “non-qualifier”.
Age
You have to be able to see over the dashboard and be at least 15 or so – MSA will decide – but you have to keep in mind that there may be a short public road section that you need to use. So a learner licence may be required if you want to drive there, or a licenced driver will have to drive over road sections.
ONE-MAKE SERIES
Yes – we will run One-Make series (anything with four rubber wheels goes) if there are at least 5 cars competing in the same class. It seems if we will have one such class for the BMW E series! These cars will probably be driven by some serious drivers who will to generate the required adrenaline rush!
OFF-ROAD VEHICLES AND BAKKIES
With a few restrictions on tyres, and penalties for leaving the road – bring them on!
We can not wait to see what you guys are made of!
SPONSORS –
Yes any sponsor who would like to get involved on any level can contact us and we will tell you how to get more than just the normal “sponsorship value” for money!
Come have a look at how you can actually make a profitable business investment. (No jokes – the SPONSORSHIPSEEKERS system is incredible!)
Please do not think or believe or even worse – be too scared to get involved as competitor or SPONSOR.
Make sure you know exactly what you need to do, to help us get going and then for us to support you!
Sponsors will receive more value for money than ever before – if you do not believe what you see – let’s talk about is.
CONCLUSION
So if you think you have what it takes and you are willing to work towards the good of motorsport in South Africa – contact me urgently there are only 5 (in-house) Super 77 Class A seats left.
leon@rallystar.co.za or maureen@sponsorshipseekers.com
We know of at least 11 talented, enthusiastic drivers who will be competing in the SUPER 77 series so far.
Please take note that we will not approach drivers for these special positions. Your application to be considered will prove that you are serious.
This is going to be a series built on talent, passion and enthusiasm, not importance or money.
