The next Triple Crown race was held in Las Vegas at the Mint 400 where Scherer finished towards the front of the pack. Scherer kept his points lead moving into the World Championships at Crandon.
When the green flag dropped, Scherer had the holeshot and never looked back. Eight laps later, he was crowned a world champion, and added the Triple Crown points winner to his impressive resume.
“It was an honor to watch Jason represent our community in front of a packed stadium, showing Crandon fans what Ultra4 is all about,” said HammerKing’s Dave Cole.
Scherer had this to say about the race: “Going into Turn 1 at Crandon is probably the craziest turn in motorsports. You really have to react to the ever-changing movement of the cars around you and grip level. As the competitors on the inside line push out to the apex of that vast corner, the cars from the outside try to enter the turn; that funnel effect has ruined a lot of trucks but makes for some amazing racing, especially in our open-wheel cars.”Jason Scherer and his team head to Reno, Nevada, for the Ultra4 National Championships in October.
