Robert Kubica’s immediate future in the World Rally Championship remains unclear with the Polish star reportedly having severed ties with the A-Style team. The Italian squad ran Kubica’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC on the first three rounds of this year’s World Rally Championship after the joining forces to win the Monza Rally and Bettega Memorial Rallysprint at the end of last season.

It has been reported, however, that A-Style will not run Kubica in Portugal – which brings into question his chances of landing a 2015-specification Fiesta.
M-Sport has confirmed its intentions to deliver one of three private Fiestas to A-Style, the other two going to Martin Prokop and Lorenzo Bertelli. The Cumbrian firm does not have a capacity to build a sixth car for Kubica in time for the next round, so his only option to drive the all-new Ford is to broker a deal with A-Style.
Kubica missed last week’s Rally Argentina and spent the time trying to build his own team, free from the A-Style infrastructure. It is understood Kubica could return to being run by M-Sport, as he was last season.
Officials from the RK World Rally Team were present in Argentina last week, negotiating on his behalf.
The former Canadian Grand Prix winner also received various offers to take him back to circuit racing, should he be unable to find agreement in the WRC.
A source close to the team told British newspaper Motorsport News: “It’s true we had some more offers for the circuit, but Robert is not the kind of person who turns his back on a challenge. He started this road in rallying and he will stay on it until he has achieved his objectives.”
