The excessive cost of organising ARC competition is very high and usually with no any foreign competitor.”
“And also the political-economic situation doesn’t encourage partners to support them,” the FSAM general secretary, Sanjy Rajaonarivelo told local news paper, Express de Madagascar.
“The logistics for the competitors is also tricky like the travelling cost for foreign drivers is excessively very high since Madagascar is an Island.”
Madagascar has held ARC series from 2011 to 2015.
The Island has acted as a title decider for the years 2013 and 2014 that had Jassy Singh and Gary Chaynes crowned ARC champions.
Madagascar joins Kenya which withdrew from ARC in 2015.
The ARC now remains with six series that go through Ivory Coast, South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
