The Mahindra Racing Formula E Team is keen to secure success at the 2.17km Miami ePrix track in the United States of America. Drivers Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok are confident of performing well after an extensive training in the simulator.
Previously in Argentina, Senna walked away from the Buenos Aires ePrix with a strong haul of points however it was heartache for Chandhok who suffered broken suspension during the race which knocked him out of contention and away from the potential of a points paying position.
Since the previous round and away from the track, the Mahindra Racing Formula E Team has been proudly announced as a manufacturer for the second season of the championship and the team have been working hard in preparation for this. Team Principal Dilbagh Gill explained to ElectricAutosport.com what to expect.
Speaking ahead of the weekend Chandhok said: “It’s been a while since Argentina and we’ve had time to work on our simulator programme by correlating data from the opening four races and looking to improve. The season started well, but the South American races haven’t been so great and I’m looking forward to turning this around in North America.”
Senna added: “Having driven Miami on the simulator it feels as it’s going to be a little more like Malaysia in style so I’m expecting good racing. Obviously everyone is very excited to be going to Miami and we know that the American motorsport fans are very passionate and supportive so there should be a great atmosphere too – hopefully there will be a big Latin crowd as well.
“We want to make sure that we start the race in the position that we deserve to so that’s the aim and then get more good points on the board.”
Unlike previous rounds, shakedown on Friday will not take place and the first time Chandhok and Senna hit the track will be for free practice on Saturday morning.
