Hyundai runs Thierry Neuville in its number three i20 WRC ahead of Dani Sordo in the four car, which could indicate the Belgian is back at the forefront of the Frankfurt-based team’s plans.
The WRC regulations state: “At least one driver must be nominated for a minimum of 10 rallies in any championship year.”
The nominated driver is usually run in the highest number of a manufacturer entry – number three in Hyundai Motorsport team.
Hyundai’s third entry, Hayden Paddon is out of the equation on the Monte – making his debut in the French Alps, the Kiwi will drive a 2015-specification i20 WRC for the Hyundai Motorsport N squad.
As expected, Mads Ostberg and Eric Camilli start in the factory Fiesta RS WRCs, with Kris Meeke and Stephane Lefebvre in DS 3 WRCs.
Ott Tanak gives the Drive DMACK World Rally Team its debut in a full season with a Fiesta RS WRC, while Robert Kubica and Bryan Bouffier are also listed in M-Sport-sourced World Rally Cars. Bouffier is entered by M-Sport, while Kubica is entered by himself.
