Muna competed in the rally for pride as he was crowned champion with one round to spare.Muna, navigated by Adrian Sutherland, clocked an impressive 70:17 minutes to emerge victorious in the rally, which looked more of a mud splash after a heavy downpour.
Chibula Kapala finished second with  73:40 minutes while Leroy Gomes took third position on 75:07 minutes with Kelvin Mhlanga managing fourth on 79:02 minutes.
Despite heavy rains characterising the final round, drivers were determined to finish the race although 10 crashed out.Only 14 drivers managed to finish the race, that was reduced to seven stages.
Veteran Muna Singh senior, who took part in the event for fun, crashed out in stage three alongside Farook Ticklay.Ticklay incurred an engine problem.Jassy Singh, despite not taking part in the final leg, was runner-up while Gomes was third.
Muna, who was excited with a maiden triumph, will not take part in next year’s African Rally Championship but will concentrate on retaining the local title.
“It’s been a year I will never forget. I am chuffed with my consistency this year. A big thank you to my navigator Adrian Daniel Sutherland for supporting and navigating for me throughout the season.
“To my family, you guys are awesome, forever encouraging, motivating and supporting me throughout. To our sponsors, we would never have achieved this success without your support, we thank you greatly and hope to maintain our relationship with you,” he said.
