Racing — It’s a family thing.
Kyle Busch held off his brother Kurt in the final 10 laps to continue his hot start to the season with victory in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The win is Busch’s third of the year as he becomes the first driver in 27 years to finish in the top 10 of eight straight races.

In a day filled with 11 cautions Kyle Busch’s day could not have gotten off to a worse start. A wreck on lap 1 crushed his rear bumper and took him until midway through the final stage to gain back lost ground and take the lead for the first time.
His win at Bristol is the eighth of his career and third victory in his last four races on the track. Kyle and Kurt have a combined 14 wins on the track. The brothers have finished 1-2 only one other time in their careers — in 2015 at Sonoma.
)Pole sitter Chase Elliot had a less than ideal day, struggling with power steering after the wreck on lap 1. On a short track where close maneuvers and a tight grip on the wheel are a must, Elliot complained of tired arms for much of the race and talks of using a replacement driver were even discussed. Elliot finished 11th.
Following Ty Dillon’s first career stage victory in Stage 1, Team Penske dominated the second stage with Joey Logano leading 106 of the laps ahead of teammates Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney.
Despite not getting the overall victory, it was a strong day from Penske cars as they led 345 of the 500 laps. For the fourth time in his career, Blaney led the most laps but failed to win.
