Since leaving Formula One where he finished as high as second in the 2008 German GP, Piquet has done well for himself. In NASCAR, he amassed four victories between three different series with his biggest win coming in the 2012 Nationwide race at Road America.
In 2014, he’s been competing in Global RallyCross and currently leads the championship standings. He has yet to win a race this season but has finished on the podium in four out of five races, including the X-Games where he was awarded Bronze for his third place finish in the final.
This Sunday, he will make his Sprint Cup debut in the Randy Humphrey-owned No. 77 Ford Fusion. The team has missed a number of races this season but in the four events they did make, they were able to finish as high as 33rd.
