Hyundai driver, Thierry Neuville has won his second World Championship Rally in succession when he was placed first in the Rally Argentina this afternoon. He has increased his WRC championship lead.

It has been a good rally for the South Korean manufacturer, Hyundai, with Andreas Mikkelsen finishing second after having to sit out the previous round. Fourth was Sebastien Ogier in a Citroen who pipped Kris Meeke for a place on the podium by winning the final power stage. Meeke, in a rare finish to an event, was fourth in his Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris.

It was a closely fought rally and at times the cometitors had to cope with difficult road conditions after heavy rain falls prior to the rally.

Ott Tanak, in another Toyota Yaris took the lead on the first day, but lost it to Thierry Neuville on the last stage on Friday night when he suffered a puncture.

On Saturday the top three battled it out and they also helped by the fact that Esapekka Lappi rolled his Citroen and had to withdraw while Ogier complained that he was not comfortable with the brakes of the car.

A full report will follow later when it comes to hand.
