The Vegas to Reno race goes through the deserts of Nevada, and the action sport star was looking forward to embracing the new challenge.
“I can’t wait to race the Polaris RZR Star Car in Vegas to Reno. The event is legendary!” said an enthusiastic Pastrana. “I’ve always wanted to compete and couldn’t be more excited to get this opportunity in a race-modified side-by-side. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
Pastrana will complete alongside team regulars Jolene Van Vugt and Jim Beaver, who were joined earlier in the season by fellow American racing star Tanner Foust at the Mint 400.
Polaris RZR’s marketing manager Matt Boone is expecting Pastrana to be a good fit for the event, given his racing background in rallying and motocross.
“We’ve invited celebrity racers who enjoy going big in everything they do – so we think they’re going to have an absolute blast,” he said.
The race kicks off on August 18, after which the Star Car will be passed on to another as yet unannounced driver for the Pahrump Nugget 250 at the end of November.
