Everything is ready for the opening of the 2020 season of the Brazilian Rally Cross-Country Rally (CBA – Cars) and Rally Baja (CBM – Motorbikes) championships. The city of Patos de Minas (MG) will host the headquarters of the competition.
Minas Gerais is the host state of the first races of the 2020 season of the Brazilian Rally Cross Country (CBA) and Rally Baja (CBM). For the third consecutive time, the mountains of Minas Gerais will be the scenery of the Rally Minas Brasil – an event organized by Rallymakers, which traditionally is responsible for the first and second events of the championships. From March 6th to 8th, the municipalities of Patos de Minas and Presidente Olegário (MG) will be in the path of the off-road competitors.
The gathering of the motorcycle, UTV and car teams will be at the Patos de Minas Exhibition Park. The race secretariat will open this Friday (06), starting at 9:30 am, with the beginning of technical inspections on vehicles at 10:30 am.
The Minas Brasil Rally will have two days of competition, starting on Saturday (07) for the timed section in Arraial dos Afonsos, from where it continues through Santiago, Rio da Prata, until reaching Presidente Olegário. Competitors will drive along the old road returning to Patos de Minas through the region of Trinta Paus.
“We set up a course with all kinds of obstacles, with a lot of mountain areas (passing the ridges), erosions, trial, very winding sectors that will require pilots (there will be no long straights to rest your arms). We have a well-crafted event and, due to the heavy rains in the city, for now, there will be mud and puddles, which should be somewhat attenuated, if the sun forecast for the next few days is confirmed, ”said Bentivoglio.
The race will continue on Sunday (08), starting at 8am.
The public will have free access to the pit area and the expectation is that many people will pass through the Patos de Minas Exhibition Park during the two days.
“It is an excellent opportunity to have closer contact with the great names of our sport and to know how the structure of the rally works. In fact, the time is taken to define the starting order for the participants and will be very close to the city ”, concluded Bentivoglio.
