The latest update

Rallycross – coming closer and closer.

Although we are busy doing a little bit more than our best to get the RallyCross series going in South Africa, there are many factors behind the scenes playing a role and we have our fair share of ups and downs. We are however persevering.

Rallystar readers and some rally fans know that we are about to launch a new website called sponsorshipseeker.com. This website will contribute immensely to sponsorships and funding of projects.

The birth of the site is now two months overdue and we are still encountering problems to get the very complicated “rear end” of the site working properly. It is also difficult to say exactly when it will go live, but end of June may be a good indication.

This website will generate sponsorship through numerous channels and will be available to any person, team, organisation or educational institution. It will generate funds for sport, academy, charity, special projects, publishing and inventions.

Here are a few tips for you to do while waiting in anticipation for the site to hit internet.

Get your Sponsorship Proposal ready – get pictures, facts, audience numbers, publicity etc. and then think about any special aspects or qualities your event, you or your team can offer. Get the dates for the 2016 season ready, find out where things will be happening etc. as much as you can.

When the time comes and you register on the website as a Sponsorshipseekers.com we will send you a list of all the details needed.

I would like to repeat that it will be better to aim your sponsorship seeking at the 2016 season rather than try to get “emergency” sponsorships for substantial sums of money.

It is also extremely important that you get a list of your friends, family and fans (the three “f’s” together – people you know who will support you and your cause!

The magic of the system is that everyone gains by supporting you – it will not cost anyone a cent and you will be able to participate or do what you want to do.

I may just add that when we explained the SponsorshipSeeker.com website to a person involved in a cycling discipline – he went away and gathered information of 470 people willing to support his and his team’s efforts!

That is what I am talking about! Enthusiasm – something many people never experience during a life time!

The bigger and better your list – the faster you will reach your sponsorship targets!

Individuals have to supply the information of at least ten supporters to register on the website and before you worry – not a single personal detail will be supplied to anyone by us, except on your specific request.

No one will get your email address or telephone numbers except us and you will only be notified of relevant matters.

You may just as well start practising to make a 30 to 60sec video clip telling everyone why they should sponsor or support you. Samples of this will be available after registration and Visser du Plessis as well as other personalities have agreed to make a video clip on your behalf if you battle to do so.

So if you can’t speak – but drive, run, hit, swim, ride and so on – there is hope!

SponsorshipSeekers.com will revolutionise the world of sponsorships and the smallest business will be able to get involved while we will make their involvement worthwhile. The least known sport discipline, unknown areas, you name it and it has a chance to get sponsorship money or at least proper assistance.

Having said all this – the delay of the website caused a major hic-up for our RallyCross plans.

RALLYCROSS

The plan was to launch the website together with the RallyCross announcement and with sponsorship requests for five prominent drivers who agreed to participate in the series. That would have been great for all concerned as well as for RallyCross.

When realising that we underestimated the complexity of the site we decided not to rush the programmers and rather wait for a great site than something that may crash every few minutes.

The result is that our plans for the simultaneous launch are now running late for the first planned event on the 4th of July and we decided to change plans somewhat.

We have decided to hold an event and to keep promotion relevant to the entry.

In other words if we have only a few entrants (but more than ten) for the event we will scale publicity down – but if we think that things will really be exciting, then we will obviously go all out as far as funds allow.

After the 4th of July we will probably fit two to three more events in until the end of the year and bring in sponsored drivers as the time goes – with the main aim to build up to a proper launch on the first event of the 2016 season and run a “normal” season of 6 to 8 events.

The Rallystar venue is well known to at least 10 000 motorsport fans in a 50 or so km radius and if we manage to create enthusiasm between them, the next events will be easier to get going.

After establishing Rallycross at Rallystar we will obviously make use of other venues and grow the sport on a national basis.

We will meantime devise methods to generate funds until SponsorshipSeekers.com sees the light.

We will obviously try to obtain sponsors for competitors and also some top drivers on the conventional method, and also introduce a fan support where we will test the enthusiasm of supporters and fans to get the sport and their favourite drivers going.

So far market research and actual events at Rallystar proved that passionate fans are more than willing to support the sport where they can enjoy the incredible action.

To support the fan program and stimulate it we will offer special deals on various activities before, during and after the RallyCross events.

This will probably include “Hotlap spins” in cars, advanced driver training as prizes, special posters, reduced entry and many more. Once again – you can help and if you believe you are truly popular – let us know and we will do all we can to help you raise funds to participate in the 2016 series.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FROM YOU:

It is essential that you let us know if you will enter the 4th of July 2015 event (before 25th May 2015) – an undertaking will be good enough – and of course in what car you intend competing.

The track will be as user-friendly as possible until we have sorted the problems of the sport out and we know what to expect.

If you are interested please send us an urgent email to info@rallystar.co.za and we will send you the latest provisional rules around the vehicles, classes and intended races.

In the provisional rules you will note that we have truly tried to accommodate everyone and if not, all you need to do is to get five more competitors to enter in the class you require – and Bob could be your uncle if the request is reasonable.

It is important that you let us know if you are short of funds – especially for next year.

The more you are willing and able to put into the project, the easier it will be for you to obtain the rest through SponsorshipSeekers.com and we will obviously do all we can to get you going!

We cannot afford to introduce RallyCross with three cars and a double pram as entries.

Please see this as a special appeal to all of you to co-operate and make this the entry into motorsport as we knew and enjoyed it.

Depending on the interest shown, we may also have some rentals available – if you are interested let us know.

You are welcome to phone me with questions, but email makes it easier.

HOPE TO HEAR FROM A NUMBER OF YOU GUYS SOON.
