I have been following the World Rally Championship for a very long time. Every event is different. Every event has something that makes it stand out.
The last time I saw car go airborne like Sebastien Ogier’s Citroen on Sunday was probably some ten years ago when Mark Webber’s Porsche took off and became airborne on Le Mans.It was an amazing sight and the fact that nobody was hurt was even more amazing.
I thought after all these years I have seen it all. Until Sunday. I could not believe what I saw. That clean take-off, the height of the jump and the perfect landing. Sebastien Ogier handled the Citroen brilliantly and the more I looked the more I got convinced that he did not expect it.
