The Alpine A110 Rally ready to conquer the world

The Alpine A110 Rally received on Monday its R-GT homologation from the FIA. This final step paves the way back to the most spectacular special stages on the planet for the constructor who went on to win the first World Rally Championship in 1973.

First announced in May 2019 prior to a 5,000-kilometre development programme, the Alpine A110 Rally won on its national competitive debut last March.

Four months after its success on the Rallye du Touquet, the new sports version of the Alpine A110 just completed its homologation process with the governing body for world motorsport.

Initiated last September, this has led to the FIA R-GT homologation of the Alpine A110 Rally. The Signatech-designed model can now compete in all the rallies around the world, be they local, national, regional or world rallies.

Embodying more than ever pleasure, accessibility and performance, the Alpine A110 Rally with its light aluminium chassis derived from the Cup & GT4 versions and its 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine is now ready to follow in the footsteps of the emblematic Berlinette.

Philippe Sinault, Signatech Director

“Each homologation is a long process requiring nearly a year’s work through multiple inspections carried out on our car, chassis and engine. The tremendous work done by Lionel Chevalier’s technical team over the last ten months has now been rewarded by this FIA R-GT homologation. I would also like to thank Renault Sport Racing and the FFSA for their valuable collaboration.

This homologation makes the Alpine A110 Rally eligible for all international events, particularly in the WRC and ERC, in addition to national and local events where it has been present since March. It also opens up new sporting horizons for all our customers, whose number already reached double digits.

We are now looking forward to seeing the Alpine A110 Rally confirm its potential on some of the world’s most spectacular special stages, but more than anything else we are proud and honoured to contribute to Alpine’s return to the world stage forty-seven years after the brand won the first-ever FIA World Rally Championship with the Berlinette! “
