TREASURYONE READY FOR BARBERSPAN

Two-car team ready to tackle a South African off road classic

TreasuryOne Motorsport heads to one of South Africa’s classic cross country races with a spring in its step as the team attacks the Barberspan Off Road Race with a unique two car team. 2018 Dakar Car Rookie of the Year Hennie de Klerk will continue preparations for his third Dakar in 2022 alongside Adriaan Roets aboard his trusty TreasuryOne and Hero Fibre Amarok, while Roy Obery and Johann Smallberger will race the team’s BMW X3.
“We had an excellent run at the Biesiesvlei 300 Inland Off Road Championship season opener and ended up second in spite of one or two challenges.” Hennie explained. “We are using the IORC races to prepare the Amarok for Dakar and we still have one or two issues to sort, not least a fuel pressure problem that has been bugging us for a while now. “Tjart and the Prep Shop Rustenburg team hope to have it sorted so we’re holding thumbs!”
“Besides that, we are looking for a clean run in the Northwest this weekend, after which we can park the Amarok and start tinkering it for the Dakar. “We will race the BMW X3 in the local championship from there on in.” Obery and Smallberger meanwhile cannot wait to race the BMW this weekend. “The last race was both a baptism of fire and an early shower.” Roy admitted. “We’re looking forward to Barberspan where we aim to finish.”
“We’re looking forward to a good weekend around Delareyville,” Hennie de Klerk concluded. “We see the Inland series as the perfect preparation for the Dakar and it’s also an exciting program that will keep us busy for the rest of the year.”
