Ducati rider Chaz Davies made it a perfect weekend on Sunday as he claimed victory in Race Two of the World Superbike Championship at Motorland Aragon in Spain.The Welshman secured his second win in as many days after his commanding victory on Saturday with a fine repeat performance finishing six seconds clear of the field.
The Kawasaki duo of Sykes and reigning champion Jonathan Rea were then left in Davies’ wake to battle it out for second and third.
With nine laps to go Rea finally made his move into the last turn as his team-mate ran wide allowing the Northern Irishman to move through at ease.
Sykes responded though following his mistake and hauled himself onto the back wheel of his team-mate and the pressure finally told at turn one with four laps to go as the usual metronomic Rea missed his braking point and ran off track to hand Sykes a second-placed finish.
Rea ended third with a handy 16 points to hold the championship lead ahead of Davies who leapfrogged Sykes into second place just 26 points back.Xavi Fores and Jordi Torres claimed lonely fourth and fifth placed positions while Davide Giugliano beat Michael van der Mark into sixth.
