Zwartkops to host Extreme Festival Extravaganza on 21 May 2016

The 2016 Extreme Festival series will return to theZwartkops Raceway near Pretoria this weekend (May 21), with eight competition categories in action. Top billing on the programme will belong to the G&HTransport Extreme Supercar category, scheduled to tackle two 14-lap racesduring the afternoon.The pre-event victory favourite must be Charl Arangies,returning to the fold after a two-event absence in his Stradale Lamborghini  Gallardo.

His closest adversaries will include people like CraigJarvis (Pablo Clark Ferrari F430 GT3), Marcel Angel (Pablo Clark Ferrari F430GT3), Sun Moodley (Bigfoot Express Porsche GT3), Jonathan du Tout (TAR Ferrari430), Darren Winterboer (Barons BMW F30 Turbo), Willem van der Westhuizen(Stradale Ferrari 430 GT3) and Oliver Dalais (Marboro Crane Porsche 996).Others to watch will be Dawie Olivier (G&H Transport BMWM3), Nicky Dicks (Stradale Porsche GT3), Gianni Giannoccaro (G&H TransportBMW M3 CSL) and Mark du Toit (TAR Ferrari 360).

Zwartkops to host Extreme Festival Extravaganza on 21 May 2016The day’s biggest entry will be that of the Comsol VW Challenge brigade, with more than 40 cars taking to the tarmac.Challenging for overall victories should be people like RoryAtkinson (Comsol Polo), Waldie Meintjes (Thompson Polo), James Hurley (StarterPack Polo), Tasmin Pepper (Alpine Motors Polo), Wayne Crous (King price Polo),Stiaan Kriel (Imperial Polo) and Gavin Ross (Norbrake Polo).

The Dunlop Thunderbikes category will, on this occasion,be joined by the Sub10 Superbike and ZX6 Junior Cup categories.Top riders will include Gavin Upton (Turn Skill KawasakiZX10R), Ivan van Niekerk (RSA Kawasaki ZX10R), Gavin Ramsay (Suzuki GSXR),Morne Potgieter (Morphine Kawasaki ZX10R), Ruperd Fourie (Silverton KawasakiZX10R) and Aiden Liebenberg (Fercor Kawasaki ZX6).

The 111 Sports and Saloon races will see some 30 plus carsin action.Topping the entry list will be the likes of Chad Wentzel(Alfa Romeo GT), George Bezuidenhout (Accolade Nissan Primera), Robyn Kruger(Steamsure VW Polo), Harry Arangies (Stradale Porsche 944), Jannie van Rooyen(VW Scirocco), Jeff Langeveldt (Azoic Honda CRX), Werner Pieterse (ValhallaSpares VW Golf) and Ryan Quan-Chai (RDG BMW Z4).

Jaco Schriks (Rhema 2) should be the man to beat in theHankook Formula Vee races, with his closest challengers Gert van den berg(Nantes Rhema 2), Greg Wilson (Reflex Solutions Forza), Peter Hills (LubeFusion Rhema 2), Lushen Ramchander (Miami Products Forza) and Symm Grobler(Rhema 2).

Some of the day’s quickest lap times should be set duringthe National Sports Car Challenge races.Front runners should include the Fantastic Racing Shelbyentries of Wayne Jardine, Johann Steenberg, Michael Jensen, and Mark Lauth,plus the Fine Metals Shelby of Jon Wilson.

The AutObarn / Northern Bolt & Tool SuperHatch racesshould see drivers like Morne Human (ANCRO Mini Cooper S), Brett Garland(AutObarn Honda Civic), Hilton van Nieuwenhuizen (ASAP Peugeot 206), Jonathandu Toit (TAR Honda Civic), Chris Davison (Opel Superboss) and Jono Konig (ASAPPeugeot 206) fighting for podium positions.

The Silverton Bolt & Nut motorcycle races should haveriders like Patrick Tilman (Imaginuity.co.za Kawasaki ZX10R), Johan Nortje(Fourways Flyers Kawasaki ZX10R), Stephen Biggin (Trolan Yamaha R1) and JoeHerbig (Fairing-Less MV Agusta) at the front end.

The Zwartkops gates will be open from 7am, with practicesessions until 10.30am.Racing will commence at 10.40am.
